Commentary:

First Ibizan debut from the feature filmmaker David Marquis. This film is based on script that is crazy, full of absurd situations and even reaching the grotesque.

First part of a trilogy followed by ‘Isolated’ (2005) and ‘Waste’ (2010). Shot in the town of Sant Antoni de Portmany in Ibiza in 2001, the film was released on April 4, 2003. Despite being a production near to amateurism, this work had some success and was awarded the Audience Award at the Independent Film Festival of Ourense. Marqués had previous success thanks to his short films, he was able to get a solid cast which allowed for a good distribution of the film, despite the difuculties that usually appear when distributing independent films made in Spain.

Jesus Palacios reported in the magazine ‘Fotogramas’: “Cualquiera’ is a breath of fresh air that gathers a generational feeling, the thirties feeling… portrayed with ease and realism that many self-proclaimed historians of the Spanish social reality would want”.

Commentary written by Juan Marí Susierra, of the production studio Incortum.
